Methyl-Guard 180 caps

Methyl-Guard Plus by Thorne is similar to Methyl-Guard with the addition of higher amounts of the active forms of folate (5-MTHF), vitamin B6 (pyridoxal 5'-phosphate), and vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin). Methyl-Guard Plus also contains the active form of vitamin B2 (riboflavin 5'-phosphate), which helps metabolize homocysteine. This Thorne product is also more concentrated than the original Methyl-Guard so individuals only need to take this supplement once per day.*

Thorne suggests taking 1-3 Methyl-Guard Plus capsules daily or as directed by your healthcare provider.

5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) supplementation is not recommended concurrently with methotrexate cancer therapy, as it can interfere with methotrexate's anti-neoplastic activity; however, 5-MTHF has not been shown to interfere with the anti-inflammatory activity of methotrexate. An individual taking methotrexate for psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis can safely take a supplement containing folate.
